Our behavioral group therapy sessions create opportunities for clients to learn about different social behaviors and skills from clinicians and one another through purposeful and engaging group therapy activities. This setting allows clients to give and receive meaningful, direct feedback from one another. Services are offered in Kyle, Buda, and Austin, TX.
Goals:
- Clients learn from and connect with one another.
- Clients learn about different types of social behavior and be able to choose how they prefer to engage and respond in a given situation. We never want clients to feel coerced or required to respond in specific ways.
Topics may include:
- Common expected and unexpected social behaviors
- Common ways others may feel when expected and unexpected social behaviors occur
- Common results related to or consequences of various social behaviors
- Requesting /advocating for accommodations and needs
- Communication preferences
- Dealing with conflicts and disagreement
