Assessments are completed at the onset of services and periodically going forward to track progress and update goals as well as strengths, progress, and areas of need.  

Assessment information can be gathered by reviewing the client's records and history, direct clinical observation, using standardized testing tools, data collection, and conversations with parents/caregivers. 

Assessments may include:

• Identifying strengths and areas for growth
• Recommending goals and treatment planning
• Recognizing potential reasons for behavior concerns
• Suggestions for better managing these areas of need and decreasing frustration for the client and caregivers
• Possible referrals for other providers and specialists
