Parent and Caregiver Training
Training can be provided for parents, grandparents, babysitters, coaches, and other important people in your child's life. Consistent support, reactions, and proactive measures across caregivers is crucial to a child's success. With your collaboration, the therapist will work on addressing your child's specific needs with you and/or other caregivers. Training sessions can focus on general feedback and/or child-specific needs, including:
- Recognizing antecedents, patterns of behavior, and communication challenges
- Effectively responding to challenging behavior and communication needs
- Targeting skills in a variety of ways
- Toilet training
- Improving listening skills
- Increasing appropriate communication
- Increasing independence
